So I chose the Cheniers’ Trouble! 7” for the list — in handy alpha by record order! — Maura and Miles put together for The Sneaker, which I defend on the grounds that the name of the black disc of music is different than that of the ostensible single (“Here Comes Trouble”) and that even at a scant three songs it has a better narrative flow than Neon Indian or whatever the fuck else you listened to this year. (I should reprimand myself for going to the Neon Indian well twice today, but I already reprimanded myself for going to a well twice today on something else. I don’t want to be ridiculous.)
