The original opening creidts for ‘Good Morning Miss Bliss’, the show that would later become ‘Saved by the Bell’
I had never seen this before and for some reason I find it really really awesome. I just now realized how much the Mikey character (Max Battimo) looks like a b-side Mario Lopez/AC Slater.
By the time I, and most everyone else, started watching the show, it had already become ‘Saved by the Bell’ and the only way to see the ‘Good Morning Miss Bliss’ episodes (which didn’t even take place at Bayside but a school called JFK Jr. High) was in re-runs on TBS/WGN at which point they had ‘Saved by the Bell’-ified the opening credits.
I always thought Hayley Mills was way hot in these early episodes as the intelligent, unattainable, subtly erotic shrew of a teacher. It’s an aspect that was never explored in the subsequent, more successful incarnations. Which was a shame. Because Mr. Belding was nothing but a punk.
